A single United Way donation supports over 20 local nonprofits doing all kinds of amazing work right here in Whatcom County.
Not only does your money stay local, it gets put to good use. All of our partner agencies are vetted to make sure they are working efficiently and effectively and that their United Way grant dollars are being well spent.

Giving gifts of stock allow you to avoid capital gains taxes (if given directly to United Way of Whatcom County, as well as the local and state taxes from the profit of the sale of the securities. Bequests – A bequest gift in your will to United Way of Whatcom County can provide long-term support for United Way’s mission to find solutions to the most difficult problems facing our community.
To make this process easier than ever, we’ve partnered with FreeWill to give all of our supporters the opportunity to write their legally valid wills online for free. In less than 20 minutes, you will have a will that is valid in all 50 states.

IRA Giving – Are you an adult age 70.5 or older looking for a way to reduce your tax burden while supporting the cause you care about? Adults 70.5 and older are eligible to make gifts from their IRA to satisfy their Required Distribution Minimum (RDM) and reduce their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Talk to your tax provider about making a gift from your IRA.
